Hello hello World of Thrones!
Can you believe that it’s already time for another installment of 834c57aa79573ece4e64e244ec76bcd7.png? That’s right, it’s already been a month since the last one! Last time we learned a few tips about staying happy. This time however, is all about New Years resolutions. And no it’s not too late to choose one. It’s never too late to better your life. So saddle up and dive on in to this month’s Royal Advice.

Did you know that one third of New Years resolutions don’t make it past the end of January? Why is this you might ask? Well, I’ve done some research and I think the biggest reason is because people generally choose a resolution that society is telling them to pick. “I need to diet,” or “I need to exercise more,” etc. Don’t get me wrong, those things are good things to do if that’s what you need in your life. But you need to do them on your terms, and you need to do it correctly.

There are some things you need to consider when picking a New Years resolution. It needs to be realistic, relevant, and measurable. It needs to be realistic for obvious reasons. Relevant because it needs to be something that matters to you, not anyone else. And it needs to be measurable because you need to keep track of your progress. Keeping track also helps reinforce the behavior. And now that you know how to pick one, you may need some ideas. So I’ve done a bit of research into New Years resolutions and have found my top three favorite ones.

Set a daily intention. When you wake up in the morning, picture something that you want to achieve that day. It can be anything at all. This small act can help you feel more in control of your life, which in turn can have a big impact on your happiness.

Take the stairs instead of the elevator. This is such an easy way to get a little more exercise. Sure it’s not mountain moving, but it’s a start in right direction.

Take ten minutes everyday just for you. It’s so easy to get caught up in school and work and this and that, that you forget to take care of yourself. Take ten minutes to do something that YOU want to do.
